Experience the World from Above Through the Lens of Passionate Paragliders
The Norwegian Aviation Museum proudly presents the opening of Free as a Bird – Paragliding Around the World, a powerful photographic exhibition that takes visitors on a high-altitude adventure across the globe. Curated by local photographers Ole Dalen and Merethe Leirvik, both avid paragliders from Bodø, the exhibition captures the spirit of flight, freedom, and natural wonder.
Dalen and Leirvik have traveled extensively with paraglider and camera in hand, exploring landscapes from a perspective few ever see. Their work offers a glimpse into the life of those who see the world not from the ground, but from the sky.
More Than a Sport: A Lifestyle of Exploration and Connection
Through vivid imagery and dynamic video clips, Free as a Bird explores how paragliding transcends sport—it becomes a lifestyle, a meditative practice, and a deeply personal way to engage with nature. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on themes of freedom, movement, and our relationship with the natural world.
Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply curious about global adventure, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see the Earth through the eyes of those who soar above it.
Join us for a visually stunning and inspiring start to the summer season. Admission is free for the opening day. We look forward to welcoming you.
